Sending a Message FAQ's

 

Q. How do I re-install e-txt on my computer and keep my existing account and credits? 

A. 1. Having installed e-txt an account is set-up for you on the Dynmark Service Platform (DSP). As part of your registration process you select a Username and Password and must enter a Product Key.

2. When re-installing e-txt use the same Product Key you used for your original install.

3. Then rather than going through the registration process again, you will be asked for your Username and Password. Enter these for access to your existing account.

4. Your fresh install of e-txt
will then download text messages you have stored on the DSP and synchronise your message rules. You also have access to your message credits and message report history. 
  



Q. Where do I access/change my registration details? 

A. Go to: Actions ¦ Change your Activations Details Online. From here you can record details including your product key when you are considering updating your account or need it for another PC. You can also change your password and personal details.   



Q. Is it okay to have more than one copy of e-txt™ open at a time?

A. Yes you can run your e-txt™ account from more than one computer. Be aware that you will need to upload your contacts list on to each version separately as contacts are stored locally on your PC.  

If you wish to still see messages as unread when someone else has already viewed them, go to Options/Receive/ and uncheck the box “Delete messages from server after download”. 

If you want to have one account but would like to filter messages to the relevant person’s PC (ie sales, marketing, accounts), you may wish to consider our network version of e-txt™. This is also more appropriate if you are constantly updating your contacts list, you have more than 5 people using the same account or you wish to send very large volumes of messages.

Q. Is it okay to use both e-txt™ PC and e-txt Web? 

A. Yes, you could use these together to your advantage. Use e-txt™ PC when you’re at your desk and still access your account when you’re out of the office using e-txt™ Web. There are, however a few things to bear in mind: 

  • You will have to upload your contacts separately for each as where the PC version stores them on your computer, the web version stores them on our servers.

  • Templates can only be accessed through e-txt™ PC.

  • Web doesn’t have the functionality of mail merge.

  • Your rules will automatically update to both of them, though be aware that web doesn’t have “forward to folder” as this is a localised rule.

  • If you wish to still see messages as unread when someone else has already viewed them, go to Options/Receive/ and uncheck the box “Delete messages from server after download”.
